TikTok has announced a partnership with the global events marketplace Eventbrite to enable content creators to promote their events and sell tickets on the video content app. With this, any creator can add Eventbrite links directly to their videos, helping the user community discover event details and purchase tickets on the app.

In a blog post, TikTok explained that the new feature will benefit local and independent event creators by offering a platform that helps grow their presence and bring more people together through unique live experiences.

Adding Eventbrite links to videos will help smaller events gain significant exposure, fostering a thriving and inclusive community while contributing to a more diverse event landscape.

“Our partnership with Eventbrite will help event creators to connect with the TikTok community, and introduce a wealth of fantastic real-world events to our users whether it be at festivals, concerts or neighbourhood gatherings.” Isaac Bess, Global Head of Distribution Partnerships, TikTok said about the partnership.

It will also enable ticket purchases from Eventbrite through an in-app browser on TikTok with just a few clicks. TikTok also indicated that event-based videos will be shown to TikTok users in order of the most relevant, based on their location.

This new update offers a great opportunity for any TikTok user to share events with TikTok’s fan communities – such as #BookTok, #NewMusic, or #FoodTok – introducing them to real-life experiences that reflect their passions.

“We’re giving creators a simple way to jump into trending conversations and bring online communities together in real life through events they’re passionate about. With this partnership, millions of people can now easily discover and attend the best events in their cities, right from where the conversation is happening.” – Ted Dworkin, Chief Product Officer at Eventbrite.

The new feature is available in several countries across Sub-Saharan Africa where both TikTok and Eventbrite services are available.
