Jake Paul has revealed his three boxing legends ahead of his showdown with former heavyweight world champion Mike Tyson next month.

‘The Problem Child’ is currently preparing for one of the biggest fights of his career. The showdown with ‘Iron Mike’ is scheduled to take place on November 15 at the AT&T Arena in Arlington, Texas. The clash will be recognised as a professional contest and will take place at heavyweight.

The 27-year-old comes into the fight off the back of a stunning knockout win over former UFC fighter Mike Perry in his last outing back in July. Paul made his professional debut in 2020 and has already faced the likes of Tyron Woodley, Anderson Silva and Nate Diaz in his short career so far. His only defeat in the sport came on points against Tommy Fury last year.

Paul has faced a lot of criticism since the confirmation of the heavyweight dust-up, particularly after ‘Iron Mike’ was forced to pull out of the original contest earlier this year after suffering an ulcer flare up. The 58-year-old was told to stop training, but has since returned to the gym and insists he will be fit to make the walk to the ring next month.

Despite the negativity, Paul remains ‘honoured’ about the opportunity to take on such a legend of the sport. In a recent interview with Sports Illustrated, ‘The Problem Child’ was asked to share his thoughts on the naysayers ahead of the contest, with the American quick to offer his view, while naming some of the biggest stars in the history of boxing.

“I would say a lot of things. I would say, first and foremost, you fight Mike Tyson, most of them won’t get in the ring. Secondly, if you love the sport of boxing, and you did have the opportunity to fight a legend… it is an honour to step in there with one of three biggest legends in the history of the sport, you know, Muhammad Ali, Floyd (Mayweather), Mike Tyson. To me, it’s an honour and it’s a win-win.”

In the same interview, the young American was asked to blind rank five heavyweight greats – eventually placing Tyson at the top of the pile. His official order is as follows: Mike Tyson, Muhammad Ali, Tyson Fury, Evander Holyfield and George Foreman. While many would freeze and take a bit of time deciding each pick, ‘The Problem Child’ was very firm and quick with each response.

With the clash with Tyson just under a month away, Paul has watched hours of tape to study the veteran’s previous fights and believes he will try “to trap me on the ropes and then get blows off to angles on each side.” When asked what his tactics will be, Paul replied: “To just box on the outside and then use my footwork to be more agile and get him chasing me and then attack him when he’s out of position. That should frustrate him.”
