Manchester United star Alejandro Garnacho has mysteriously deleted his Twitter account ahead of the team’s crucial Premier League clash against rivals Liverpool.

Garnacho is in the middle of a difficult period for United after being benched for the last four matches, with the 20-year-old reportedly falling out with Ruben Amorim – who left him out of the squad that beat Manchester City last month.

There have been doubts over whether Garnacho is a good fit for Amorim’s 3-4-3 formation and he has struggled to impress after recent substitute appearances. He has played just 72 minutes in his last three league games.

Garnacho has previously been accused of having attitude issues after falling out with Erik ten Hag in 2023 and it has been claimed he angered Amorim by showing dissent towards the 39-year-old during United’s 2-1 win over Viktoria Plzen in December.

Garnacho is said to have turned his back on Amorim while being given instructions to come on against the Czech side, though his team have dismissed it as a misunderstanding.

Amid uncertainty around Garnacho’s future, he has now deleted his Twitter account after fans noticed his profile had been greyed out, with no picture of the player and a message that read “something went wrong”.

Supporters later spotted Garnacho had updated his Instagram bio, with the winger adding a note that read: “NO TWITTER”.

Garnacho will be hoping to make United’s squad for today’s trip to Liverpool but former Reds manager Graeme Souness believes he must change his attitude in order to get back in Amorim’s plans.

Writing for the Daily Mail, he wrote: “I hear about Alejandro Garnacho being unhappy with the manager. Can someone remind me of just who he is?

“The last time I looked he was only a 20-year-old boy. One who is only one step up, on a ten-rung ladder. Who are you?”

“He acts like a ‘wrong ‘un’ on the football pitch and, unless he changes, he’s got no chance of fulfilling what obvious potential he has.”
