LIV Golf sensation Bryson DeChambeau has hinted at a potential trip to India to compete alongside his Crushers teammates on the Asian Tour in 2025.

The idea was first suggested by teammate Anirban Lahiri, and it’s expected that the two-time major champion will participate in the International Series event towards the end of January. The likely venue is DLF Golf and Country Club in Gurgaon, with Paul Casey and Charles Howell III rumoured to be joining them.

This information comes straight from DeChambeau himself, who spoke to the Hindustan Times. Although no official announcement has been made, this would mark the first time India has hosted the International Series, with the prize money estimated to be around $2 million.

Scheduled between January 30 and February 2, the event offers players a chance to sharpen their skills before the 2025 LIV season kicks off in Riyadh. Speaking about the possibility of playing in India, DeChambeau told the publication: “I am aware that Baan is going to be involved, and we have had a few talks about it.

“It will be a very important week for him. I will support him fully, and if everything works out, I am extremely excited about the opportunity to play in India. I have never been there, but it’s a country that has fascinated me. I have always loved being a global player and I greatly enjoy playing in as many countries as possible.

The hype ramps up as Lahiri is pretty positive about finalising DeChambeau’s participation in upcoming events. Discussing the latest developments, he shared: “I think we are almost there. There are just a few minor things on which we have to dot the i’s and cross the t’s.

“But yes, I think it will be massive for Indian golf fans if Bryson is there. Single-handedly, with what he does on the golf course and outside it through his social media channels and his interaction with fans, he has brought millions of new fans to our sport. I think we can all agree he is the most popular golfer in the world right now.”

In another revelation from the ranks of LIV Golf, star player Cam Smith called for the creation of a links-style event to prime players for success at The Open. Smith shared his thoughts saying: “I don’t know if it’ll happen next year but definitely in the future, it’s something that we want to do.

Recalling his preparations for the tournament at LIV Golf Valderrama, he admitted: ” While recollecting his run-up to playing at LIV Golf Valderrama, he confessed: “It was really hot, the ball was going a long way up in altitude, and then getting onto links where it’s quite cold and windy, it’s probably not the best prep.”
