Deep beneath the surface of Gerwyn Price’s home lies a sanctuary of leisure and legacy – something ‘The Iceman’ undoubtedly hopes Alexandra Palace will become for him in the coming days.
Price, 39, faces Joe Cullen for a place in the fourth round of the World Darts Championship today (December 27). Having underwhelmed in the three years since his 2021 triumph, the Welshman will be laser-focused on becoming just the seventh multi-time champion in the tournament’s history this time around.
But as the tension rises at the oche, it’s a different story at Price’s home in Markham, a village in Caerphilly County Borough, Wales. In the basement, he’s built a luxury retreat where triumphs are toasted and tensions are very much released.
It’s a meticulously-crafted man-cave, filled to the brim with entertainment and achievement – an apt reflection of Price’s professional career, his larger-than life personality, and his unyielding drive. Here, Mirror Sport takes you inside the stunning, state of the art room, showcasing the features that make it the ultimate champion’s retreat.
Cinema
The massive room is split into different zones, and one such corner has been turned into a cinema space. A 100″ 4K TV – fit with 12 ‘Artcoustic’ surround-sound speakers – stretches across the wall opposite a cosy five-person L-shaped sofa and an equally-cosy-looking lounge chair – upholstered from his old darts shirts, no less.
Sat beneath a starlit planetarium ceiling, Price can flit effortlessly between TV and movie-watching, with a hidden projector screen available at the touch of a button if he fancies a super-wide, more cinematic experience.

Trophy-laden bar
A trophy-adorned bar, situated behind the sofa, stands as a shrine to Price’s sensational darts career. It also acts as a back row for cinema/TV viewing. Above a dozen or so inviting spirit bottles sit the various trophies, awards and accolades ‘The Iceman’ has hoovered up in years gone by.
Four stools tuck underneath the bar, an arm’s length away from tipples galore, with everything from Amaretto to Zima seemingly on offer. There’s also a built-in fridge, stacked with ice cold bottles of beer and wine for the more conventional drinker.

Snooker & pool tables
Flanking the cinema space is both a snooker table and a pool table, offering the perfect setting for a bit of competitive fun or unwinding after a long day. They represent the balance between work and play that Price has perfected over the years.
“I probably play snooker more than darts. Which might be the problem,” he told The Guardian. “[My highest break] on that table? I’ve had a 96. Highest ever, 108. I won’t do a Shaun Murphy and lie about having a 147!”

Darts practice area
Of course, no champion’s man-cave would be complete without a dart board, or, in Price’s case, a dedicated space for practice. Situated in one corner is a professional-grade board, complete with an oche, and a massive Gerwyn Price Ultimate Darts card – featuring a snap of him smooching the World Darts Championship trophy.
Tucked beside it is a vending machine, so ‘The Iceman’ can stay ice cool as he hones his skills. The feature is a testament to Price’s discipline and commitment, serving as a stark reminder that even in their retreats, the world’s best players never stop working.

Memorabilia
The walls of the room are littered with a collection of achievements, memories, and keepsakes. From shirts and vintage darts to photos and medals, each item is carefully framed, polished, and displayed, reflecting the relentless talent that has driven Price’s success.
As he battles under the bright lights of Alexandra Palace, Price’s stunning games room remains a reminder of the champion he already is, and the champion he strives to become.
