Luke Littler will parade his darts World Championship trophy around Old Trafford – and remind Manchester United fans what a champion’s prize looks like.
Die-hard United supporter Luke The Nuke, who has met Sir Alex Ferguson and received a congratulatory message from David Beckham after his stunning PDC world title triumph, could take a lap of honour later this month. Club officials and Littler’s management are believed to be exploring the possibility of the 17-year-old sensation taking a bow at the home game with Brighton on January 19.
Twelve months ago, Leeds fan Luke Humphries showed off the Sid Waddell Trophy at Elland Road, while Michael ‘Bully Boy’ Smith took it to home-town rugby league club St Helens’ Totally Wicked Stadium in 2023.
Littler said: “Obviously, I’d love to take it to Old Trafford and parade it in front of 75,000 fans. We just need to look at the fixtures, see who we’re playing and see if it fits in with the schedule. I saw Michael Smith did it with the rugby league crowd at St Helens.”
United last won the Premier League title in 2013, the year Sir Alex Ferguson retired. The darts champion was just six at that time.
Fandom goes both ways for Littler, however. Defender Harry Maguire congratulated the teenager on his win, while former United megastar David Beckham also gave the champion some praise. “He said ‘Wow, well done’. I said ‘Thank you’,” Littler said of his messages with Beckham.
“Goes to show how well I’ve done for the sport. Not only for myself but the other hundreds of professionals out there. But to see the likes of David Beckham watching, it feels crazy.”
The 17-year-old’s footballing interest stretches beyond Old Trafford however. In the hours after become the youngest PDC world champion ever, Littler attempted to create an iconic photograph.

Littler paid homage to the Inter Miami star with his own version, replacing the Jules Rimet trophy with the Sid Waddell.
Posting on Instagram, Littler wrote: “Home sweet home, think nala loves it too”. Nala is his dog, who is shown in a second photo, wearing a replica of his darts shirt alongside the Sid Waddell trophy.
