Jason Kelce couldn’t hide his excitement as Taylor Swift stepped into Arrowhead Stadium for “Monday Night Football” before the Kansas City Chiefs faced off against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The former Philadelphia Eagles legend, who was at the game in his new capacity as an ESPN analyst, witnessed his brother’s team clinch a 30-24 win. From her usual spot in the VIP suite, the pop sensation saw her beau, Travis Kelce, rack up 14 catches for 100 yards.

Clearly prioritising her personal life over politics, Swift skipped the last rally of Kamala Harris’ bid for the US presidency, choosing instead to support her partner in Missouri. Excitement brewed online as video clips surfaced showing the music icon arriving at the venue, with her partner’s brother visibly chuffed to see her.

During the ESPN telecast, when the camera spotlighted Swift, the older Kelce sibling energetically greeted her with a “‘Hey!”, prompting host Scott Van Pelt to allude to Jay-Z’s ‘Public Service Announcement’, quoting: “Got the hottest chick in the game wearing my chain.”

Social media buzzed after the broadcast, with one commenter noting: “Everyone calls her his sister in law now I guess. I bet after the game Taylor runs up to Jason and they have the biggest bear hug and she whispers thank you,” while another remarked: “Love seeing her blend her superstar life with these down-to-earth moments.”, reports the Mirror US.

Despite the media frenzy, one viewer was not impressed, remarking: “ESPN needs to stop. If they make Jason apologize for defending his family. Then don’t call her his SIL looking for his reaction by his co-workers.”

The Philadelphia Eagles legend, Kelce, also went live on air to issue an apology after he tossed a fan’s mobile during a tense moment outside Beaver Stadium in Pennsylvania. Kelce reacted vigorously as the individual hurled homophobic slurs towards his brother regarding Taylor Swift.

The former athlete expressed his remorse, saying: “I’m not happy with anything that took place. I’m not proud of it. And in a heated moment, I chose to greet hate with hate, and I just don’t think that’s a productive thing. I really don’t. I don’t think it leads to discourse, and [don’t think] it’s the right way to go about things.”

He continued: “In that moment, I fell down to a level that I shouldn’t have. So I think bottom line is, I try to live my life by the golden rule. It’s what I’ve always been taught. I try to treat people with common decency and respect, even though I fell short this week. I’m going to do that moving forward and continue to do that.”
