Two-time heavyweight champion Tyson Fury could lose half of his whopping £75million fight purse for his mouthwatering sequel with Oleksandr Usyk due to tax deductions.

The ‘Gypsy King’ will be looking to level the series at one apiece when he goes toe-to-toe with the Ukrainian on Saturday night in Riyadh. Fury, 36, suffered the first defeat of his professional career to Usyk back in May. Despite enjoying a lot of success early on, the Brit started to fade just past the midway point and was nearly stopped in the ninth round. From then on in, he struggled to get back into the bout before losing via split decision.

After becoming the first undisputed heavyweight champion of the world since Lennox Lewis back in 1999, Usyk has likely secured 50 per cent of the total £150m purse heading into Saturday’s sequel. While Fury will take the other half – that will soon be decimated when HMRC considerations are taken into account. With Fury set to pocket £70m from the fight, the 36-year-old can expect to pay an estimated £35,250,000 in deductions, according to data collected by JeffBet – with his take-home money approximately £39,750,000.

Speaking about the potential jaw-dropping financial loss for Fury, a spokesperson for Jeff Bet said: “If you are a resident in the UK you have to pay tax on overseas earnings in the same way, and that remains the same no matter how much someone might earn. Good tax advice is always important and in this case you can be sure the Fury camp will have looked at an agreement that would be the most beneficial.”

While Fury will be disappointed by the financial loss, the Brit remains as focused as ever and has cut a pretty serious figure all week so far – until Thursday night. The brit launched a foul-mouthed rant at his upcoming opponent after an 11-minute intense staredown.

Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk are set to lock horns again on December 21 with the Brit attempting to avenge his defeat by the Ukrainian in May. Victory for Fury could also set up a huge domestic showdown with bitter rival Anthony Joshua next year

The pair had to be pulled apart after they locked eyes for what felt like an enternity before Fury exploded into a tirade of abuse at the WBA, WBC and WBO heavyweight champion at their press conference. Fury, 36, said: “He’s getting f***ed, I was 50 per cent last time, you were the best you’ve ever been and you still couldn’t do s***.

“You couldn’t do f*** all. Don’t you be afraid you rabbit looking f***er. I won’t leave you alone. You ugly little b******. I’m butchering you. You are going to wake up in the hospital you clown. You got a gift decision you clown. I’m the man, I’m the f***ing champion. You ugly rat b******. You are a rat. I’ll beat you seven days a week.” Usyk – who seemed unfazed by the abused – just replied to tell Fury to “not be afraid” and that he “wouldn’t leave him alone”.
