Tyson Fury has revealed he hasn’t spoken to his dad John in the build-up to his rematch with Oleksandr Usyk.
The Gypsy King is out for revenge against the Ukrainian in what is set to be another barn-burner of a battle for the WBA, WBO and WBC heavyweight titles. Fury, 36, locked himself away in a Malta training camp for the fight here in Saudi Arabia and claimed he didn’t speak to his family for three months.
There have been no sightings of his father John ahead of the rematch. John Fury caused chaos back in May when he headbutted one of Usyk’s team at the start of fight week. Then the father of the two-time heavyweight won’t be in the corner for Saturday night’s rematch, even if he does make it to Riyadh. Instead it will be Andy Lee only alongside SugarHill Steward. John Fury was criticised for his corner advice during the first fight.

Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk are set to lock horns again on December 21 with the Brit attempting to avenge his defeat by the Ukrainian in May. Victory for Fury could also set up a huge domestic showdown with bitter rival Anthony Joshua next year
Fury said: “Like I say, I’ve not spoken to anybody. [Brother] Shane’s been with me the whole camp. We’ve had 60 days together, each other’s company, killing each other. He’s called me more useless things than ever before. Hughie come over two weeks ago. And that’s it. I’ve not spoken to anybody. When I say I’ve not spoke to nobody, I really haven’t spoken to anybody.”
Fury has spent most of the camp in isolation, only moving from training and resting to go to church on a Sunday while spending time with his brother. He said: “Just been focused on the fight and doing my job, you know, being in camp. I was in Malta, it was decent weather, dry, we had good facilities and stuff and literally, I went to the gym in the morning, come back, had my food, went to the gym in the evening, come back and had my food, and then I’d watch TV, went to bed, got to bed early, woke up early and the only time we left was to go to the gym or we went to the church on a Sunday. That was it.”
But Fury has revealed his son wants him to “smash” Oleksandr Usyk in their heavyweight rematch. He what one of his sons, Adonis, wants to happen when he gets in the ring again with Usyk, the man who ended his unbeaten run back in May. Fury said: “My Adonis, that’s my youngest son then, my second youngest son wanted me to smash this kid’s face right in. He’s only five. He wants me to severely smash it.” The Gypsy King did have wife Paris at the final press conference here on Thursday along with another of their children, Prince.
