Chelsea face Crystal Palace on Saturday, looking to recover from a series of bumps in the road with a win at Selhurst Park.

Enzo Maresca’s men flung themselves into title contention during the first half of this Premier League season, led by Cole Palmer to second place and just two losses after 17 games.

However, their form as of late has dipped, suffering consecutive surprise defeats at home to Fulham and away at Ipswich Town. On the other hand, The Eagles have been a mixed bag so far this season. They currently sit in 15th but have only lost one of their last eight league clashes.

The Blues head into this all-London affair as favourites and will be keen to right the wrongs of their last two outings, yet, fans in the UK hoping to tune into watch will be left disappointed.

Why isn’t Crystal Palace vs Chelsea on TV?

With Tottenham vs Newcastle chosen for the early 12:30pm slot on Saturday, and Arsenal’s trip south to Brighton the game selected to be shown at 5:30pm, Chelsea’s match against Crystal Palace is one of five games pencilled in for 3pm.

Therefore, this clash cannot be shown on TV as it falls under the Premier League’s blackout rule – which prevents any fixture from being broadcast live between 2:45pm and 5:15pm on a Saturday.

Crystal Palace vs Chelsea won’t be broadcast in the UK

From 2025/26 up until the 2028/29 season, Premier League matches will be shown only on Sky Sports and TNT Sport in the UK. Amazon Prime, who showed 20 games in 2024, are moving over to focus on Champions League coverage.

However, said blackout is set to remain in place until at least 2029, on the back of the new TV rights package that was agreed upon in December 2023.

How to watch Crystal Palace vs Chelsea?

Though those in the UK will be unable to watch live, fans in other countries can do so via their local Premier League providers. Peacock will broadcast the game in the US, with Optus Sport showing the clash in Australia.

After the match has finished, Sky Sports will make short highlights available – usually around 20 minutes after the final whistle – which can be viewed via YouTube.

Fans can also tune in to Match of the Day, which airs at 10:30pm on Saturday on BBC One, as well as on BBC iPlayer. Sky Sports will further have an extended 30-minute highlights showing that evening.
